Fine Arts Association
About Fine Arts The St. Dominic’s Fine Arts Association (FAA) encourages individuals to learn, create, enjoy and appreciate the arts. The FAA encompasses K3-8th grade activities including music, visual arts, drama, forensics, and dance. The Fine Arts Association is committed to educating students in the arts each year. The FAA also seeks to create an environment in which individuals will be motivated and inspired, allowing them to be transformed by the arts. The FAA mission is built on the conviction that the arts can transform lives. Study in the Arts remains a necessary ingredient in developing life skills in any chosen field. FAA is committed to supporting the students, parish, faculty, and community in the fine arts offered at St. Dominic’s. Since 2007, St. Dominic’s Fine Arts Association (FAA) has been providing artistic experiences, centered on Christ, to inspire our community to discover, develop and demonstrate their God-given talents for a lifelong appreciation of the arts. The concept of the FAA began in 2005 when Heather Ott, a past music teacher, presented the concept of an art association to the School Board. In 2006, a small group of volunteers created a charter and guidelines for moving this concept into reality. Since then, the FAA has sponsored school Talent Shows, an Art Gallery Show, Summer Theatre Camps for children within the Brookfield community, Visual Art Fundraisers, financial support for Wisconsin School Music Association (WSMA), Hip Hop Dance for students, and a new key board for the music room. Now that the FAA has built a strong base, it plans to expand activities further for the parish. Some of the plans include:
How To Become a Patron The FAA has been successful due to parish members with a passion for the arts. If you feel called to support the fine arts at St. Dominic, please contact The Fine Arts Association Committee. |
