Forensics
Forensics is individual and team competition in various categories of speech. Students in grades 4-8 can participate in this program. Parent volunteers take care of the organization, coaching and judging of the Forensic Program.
The Forensics program has both a Junior High Team (grades 6-8)
and a Grade School Team (grades 4-5). No experience is needed! First
timers are welcome for both Teams. To register, fill out the
registration form below for your age group and return it to the school

Jr. High
Forensics Overview General Information Forensics is an extra-curricular program offered to students who enjoy public speaking or for those who are looking to hone their skills in that arena. Students can choose from a variety of categories in which to compete, including: Prose, News Reporting, Moments in History, Group Acting, Demonstration, Storytelling, and more. The forensics program at St. Dominic School competes at two different levels. Students in 4th – 5th grade choose their pieces in November and December. They practice until their Forensics year culminates at the end of January. They will present before their family and peers in a Festival format Students in 6th – 8th grades compete through out the Milwaukee area, on various Friday and Saturdays throughout the months of January, February, and March. Points are awarded based on performance, with a high score being 42. Student who meet the criteria for the State Tournament will go on to compete there in mid-March. Parents, students, and Forensics officers work together to coach, judge, and supervise the students who have joined this program. Volunteerism is a large part of what makes our program viable. History St. Dominic’s Forensics began in 1997when parents decided to
organize a few kids to speak at a couple of meets outside of our school.
Since then, the program has grown to include Forensics for 4th and 5th
graders and ten meets for Junior High students. The Forensics program has been successful due to past participants, the support of many parents over the years and the support of the teaching staff at St. Dominic. Many thanks to those who have contributed over the years! The growth of the Forensics’ Team is a great example of how programs can grow with hard work and faith. As Scripture states: “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, ‘move from here to there’, and it shall move; and nothing shall be impossible to you.” Matthew 17:20 2011 State Results Congratulations to two students who placed at the Middle Level Forensics State Tournament in Oconomowoc! 8th Graders: Jenna Brockman (1st Place in the category of Humorous Solo) and Katie Seim (3rd Place in the category of Humorous Solo).
